Access Statement For SLAKES FARM
Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs ofall our guests in our home which is an old farmhouse with 2 ensuite bed and breakfast rooms.
The following information is a summary of our provision.

Pre-Arrival
the nearest train station is appleby 5 miles away.(15 mins by car)
we have a web site with photographs of the rooms both upstairs.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
there is ample parking at the front of the house.
the entrance is flat until you arrive at the front door, this has a step 5cm high and a lip of 5cm into the hall way.
there is an outside light and lighting in the hall.
assistance with luggage is always offered.
Main entrance & reception
entrance is into the hall, leaflets and information on the hall table.
Smoke alarms in all rooms and fire extinguishers in the hall and on the stairs luminous sign to show location.
fire escape route also signed(luminous)
guests are taken to their rooms via the staircase of 11 steps there is a corner handle half way up
Public areas - general (internal), the lounge/dining room is carpeted as is the stairs and landing ( small step on the landing) 5cm high.
The bedrooms are also carpeted. Both the bathroom and shower room are laid with vinolay plus rug and pedestal mats.
Breakfast is served in the lounge /dining room ;-
2 separate tables are available.
There is a new 3 piece suite .
we do not play music but there is a small digital tv and many books of local interest also maps to borrow.
The room has an open fire which is lit as needed. There is a free standing radiator.
The premises are completely non smoking.
You can request to have your outer clothing dried
BEDROOMS
2 bedrooms on the first floor, with lockable doors.
A double and a single bed in each room, 2 bed side lights and a central light.
Carpeted , with bed side rugs.
Smoke alarm in each room,
Tea and coffee making facilities including kettle
Room with bath has small step (5cm ) into the bathroom .
Bathroom,(ensuite) shower-room (ensuite)
bathroom with shower over, safety mat in the bath.
Toilet and wash basin.
Chair without arms.
Wash stand with marble top.
Wall mounted heater
shower room has heated towel rail. Step of 14cm into cubicle.

Garden
garden to front of house, with water feature water running over churn.
seats in the garden and on the patio also plants in containers of various sizes., paths level, but care needed along back path..
Additional information
our farm house was built in 1734
We are a working farm
Children are not allowed around the farm without our supervision.
Front door locked at 10.30pm but keys given on arrival for acess as required
Rooms available from 4pm and vacated by 10.30am on day of departure
